Marguerita Frances Brand Cleary Tuesday June 8th 2021

Sadly, the family announces the passing of a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend, Marguerita Brand. Dear wife of the late Clarence Brand (2004) and loving mother of Diana Urquhart (Terry), Rick Brand and Don Brand (the late Ronna). Grandma “on the farm” of Jeff (Debbie) and Brad Urquhart. Great Grandmother of Jamie-Lynn and Alexander Urquhart. Born in Spencerville, Ontario to the late Fred and Kedith Cleary. Beloved sister of the late Milburn Cleary, Eleanor Burgess, Elgin Cleary, the late Wilma Cleary, Willis Cleary (Hilda), the late Howard Cleary and the late Edna Williams. She will be dearly missed by her many nieces and nephews and friends accumulated along her 100-year journey. After completing teachers college in Ottawa, she taught school in Domville before moving to the Niagara Region, teaching in Smithville and Grimsby. Among her many interests, she was active at Rock Chapel Church and volunteered at West Lincoln Memorial Hospital. She was a valuable partner to Dad on their Grimsby farm but thoroughly enjoyed living in town in later years. As per Marguerita’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Due to the current Covid restrictions, a private family graveside service will be held at Queen’s Lawn Cemetery, Grimsby. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Marguerita are asked to please consider the West Lincoln Memorial Hospital Foundation or a charity of your choice.
