LAFRENIERE – Mary Doreen “Margie”
It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Doreen Floyd Lafreniere (Margie) at the Mattawa Hospital on May 11, 2021 at the age of 88.
Loving Mother of Brian (Lyne), Paul (Germaine). Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Matthieu, Antonio, Emily, Julie and Joffre, and will be sadly missed by nieces, nephews, and friends.
Survived by her sister-in-law Nita Floyd (Eric) and Mary (Johnny); Albertine Lafreniere (Romeo); brother-in-law Réjean Lafreniere (Caroline) and Jerome Tremblay (Claudette).
Doreen was predeceased by her husband Claude Lafreniere and her parents Stuart & Freda Floyd of Powassan, her brothers Eric (Nita) and Johnny (Mary)
Doreen was known as a great cook and she prided herself in volunteer in many organizations but most of all the Mattawa Golden Age Club for many years and created lots of memories.
Doreen was all about her family. She excels in catching the big one, she could of have had her own fishing show!
Due to the current covid pandemic restrictions the Martyn’s Funeral Home will be taking appointments only for visitation at the Martyn & Sloan Mattawa Chapel on Saturday May 15, 2021 between 2- 4 &
7 – 9 pm.. There will be no service or burial at this time.
The Lafreniere Family would like to express our appreciation for the love and kindness shown by the nurses, doctors and staff at the Mattawa Hospital. We are truly blessed to have them taking care of our love ones and so in lieu of flowers donation to the Mattawa Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
