Margie’s Obituary
FRASER’S MOUNTAIN – Margie (Hayman) Atwater, 73, Fraser’s Mountain, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 18, 2021, in the Aberdeen Hospital, Palliative Care Unit, New Glasgow, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in New Glasgow on January 11, 1948, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Mary Ellen (MacKenzie) Hayman. She was a member of Trinity United Church, New Glasgow and an honorary member of the Linacy Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Margie was employed with the former Zellers, New Glasgow for many years and as a supervisor with Service Master. She also cared for children in her home and worked at the former John Brother MacDonald Stadium, New Glasgow. Besides caring for her loving grandchildren, Margie enjoyed camping, traveling, shopping trips to Bangor, ceramics, crafts, tole painting, playing cards, bingo and most importantly, spending time with family and friends.
Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Howard; son, Howard (LauraLee) and their children, Karlee, Liam, Dylan and Riley; daughter, Lee Ann (Rod) and their children, Calli and Troy; sister, Barb; brother-in-law, Vincent, Donnie and Allie; sister-in-law, Carol; special friend, Marge; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by sisters, Tena, Mary, Myrna and Dianne; brothers, Hughie, Sonny, Webb, John, Vic and Robert; mother and father-in-law, Keith and Helen (Wallace) Atwater.
Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, November 21, 2021, in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow with Rev. Donna Tourneur officiating.
Margie’s family wish to express their sincere appreciation for the loving care provided by the Aberdeen Hospital 4 South nursing staff, Dr. Anne Kwasnik, the palliative care team and the “VON Girls”.
