Obituary of Margaret Anita Burge
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our Mother, Margaret Anita Burge (Alyward) on October 14, 2021 at the age of 84.
She is predeceased by her parents, Agnes and Patrick Alyward; granddaughter, Tina and sisters Patricia and Carmel.
Left to mourn with treasured memories are her loving and devoted husband of 65 years, Perley; daughters, Carol Ann (Sean), Linda (John); sons, Keith (Cavelle), David; grandchildren, Robert (Jennifer), Rebecca, Sophia, Jake (Jolene); great-grandchildren Amber Lynn and Elliot. Along with a great many relatives and friends.
Mom was a prolific writer of poems and songs. There were often many pieces of paper on the table scribed with beautiful verses.
She was a very spiritual women who dearly loved her church and her time spent with her choir mates.
Mom will be forever remembered for her Sunday cooked dinners and her grandchildren could be heard saying, “These pototoes aren’t like Nan’s”
She dearly loved her husband and family and loved to hear what was happening in their lives with her daily talks with them.
A private family service will take place on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Hoskins Funeral Home, Bishop’s Falls. No visitation by request.
The family would like to sincerely thank the staff at the James Paton Memorial Hospital and Central Nfld. Regional Health Centre. Special gratitude to Dr. Colin Clarkson for his care of our Mother.
