Margaret passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving children on April 11, 2021. She was a caring and compassionate, wife, mother, sister, “Aunty Market”, grandmother, and friend. She was predeceased by her adoring husband, John Eby and survived by her children, Jennifer (Paul) Jones, Don, Carol, beautiful creative granddaughter Andrea Jones, sister Irene Booth, and many beloved nieces and nephews. Margaret was the youngest of seven children born in Victoria to British Immigrants, Thomas and Isabel Wilson. She was predeceased by her brothers, Tom, Dave, Gordon, Dick and George.
She had fond memories and cherished long-time friendships from attending Burnside and Quadra Elementary Schools, and Victoria High School (1952 grad). After receiving her Laboratory Technology training from Victoria College, her caring nature led her to enjoy a fulfilling career in hospital labs in Toronto, Wisconsin, Prince Rupert and all three hospital labs in Victoria. Margaret and John met at the curling club in Prince Rupert and were married in Victoria in 1962. They began their family in Prince Rupert before moving to Victoria in 1969.
Margaret was devoted to supporting her children in their many passions and endeavors. The family enjoyed countless outdoor adventures together around BC. She also found joy in attending and supporting local dance, music, and theatre in Victoria. Margaret will be remembered for her generous and kind heart towards family, friends, her community, and the visiting birds at her window. Many people will have delicious memories of her scones. We will miss you dearly Mom, thank you for your kindness, laughter, and love.
The family would like to thank Dr. Prendergast, Dr. Clark and the teams in the ER, 8N and 8S at the Jubilee for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers please make donations to your charity of choice. A celebration of life will be forthcoming when conditions allow.
