For the people who knew our
little brother Marcel Jean, who passed away almost a year ago, you are
invited to pay your respects and meet some members of his family at
the Savoie funeral home in Campbellton on Saturday, August 7, from 10
a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Savoie Funeral Home, 47 Alexander Street in
Campbellton. As expressed by Marcel,
there will be no funeral and the burial ceremony will be held in
private.
The sudden death of Marcel Jean from Campbellton, NB, was
pronounced at his home on August 17, 2020. At 56 years old, Marcel was
the youngest of the 7 children of the late Valère Jean,
originally from Lamèque, and the late Gilberte (Mazerolle)
Jean, originally from Rivière-du-Portage. The family lived
in Campbellton NB. He was predeceased by his brother Gilbert, the
eldest in the family. His other brothers and sisters survive him:
René, residing in Montreal; Roger (Carmen Santiesteban),
his niece Mélanie (mother Susan) Edison and
Mélanie’s husband Stefan Dawkins along with their three
daughters, Jasmine, Khloé and Lily-Rose, all residing in
Edmonton, Alberta; his sister Céline (Kevin Scott) residing
in Gatineau, and his two nephews François, and
Jean-Philippe (Caroline Chaussé) and their two children,
Enzo and Zelda, residing in Montreal; his brother Denis residing in
L’Ascencion-de-Patapédia; his sister Marina (Yves

Lagacé (late Ludger Mazerolle), Patricia Jean (late
Égide Paulin), Lorraine Mourant (late Bertin Jean), Louise
Chiasson (late Antonio Jean), Maurice Jean (Judy Reaume), and Anna
Laroque (Cyril Bulcke). Many cousins, friends, and clients of Marcel
are included in this mourning.
Marcel lived for others. He anticipated the needs of people
he encountered, engaging in conversation without restraint and without
worrying about appearances and prejudices. He was appreciated for his
candor, his ability to make people smile and laugh, his gift of
himself and his hard work, his human values, his honesty and his
integrity. He loved to please, give, and support. Marcel was a beacon
for his family in Campbellton and he will be deeply missed by all who
came into contact with him in his community. We all needed him to stay
with us longer.
