Manford Ogden
1930-2021
Passed away at the Georges Dumont hospital in Moncton on
December 15th, 2021. Our Dad was born on May 29th, 1930, in Moncton,
New Brunswick.
Dad moved many times with his family before setting out on
his own and settling in Fredericton. His work career spanned more than
30 years at the Daily Gleaner, where he formed many lifelong
friendships and found the love of his life. As luck would have it, Pat
Odell had found a brief job at the newspaper and when Dad saw her, he
knew he had to ask her out. The rest, as they say, is
history.
Their 66 year marriage was filled with three children, five
grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Camping trips,
fishing, picnics, skidooing and so many of life’s family
events filled those years.
They loved Florida and spent 17 winters there, finding new
friends to play cards, shuffleboard and golf with.
Dad was blessed with good health all his life until the last
few weeks. He will be missed by his family; daughter, Debbie (Herman);
son, Derek (Janice), David (Lise); grandchildren, Jill Renowitzky
(Franklin), Michael, Matt, Johnathan and Julie; as well as his great
granddaughter, Ana Sofia.
He was predeceased by his wife, Pat Odell in
2019.
A graveside service will be held in Fredericton in May 2022
for family and close friends.
There is no easy way to say goodbye to someone you love,
instead we will keep him close in our heart, right beside our
Mom.
