Obituary of Maggie Elizabeth Sanford
It is with many heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Maggie Sanford of Burlington, at the age of 89, in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor, with family by her side, on Friday, November 26, 2021. Born on June 11, 1932, in Moose Brook, she was a daughter of the late Ray and Myrtle (McCulloch) Lingard.
A personal support worker and homemaker she lived, worked in and was a community hub for Riverside Road most of her life.
Maggie is survived by her children, Irene (Robert); Myrtle; Susan (Roger); Anson (Shelly); Effie (Terry); Marie Harvie; the baby brat, Sandra (Scott) Huntley; her 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Nora (Blair) Singer; Alice (Bernie) Feeley; Annie Lingard; Louise (Bert) Hamilton; several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Bernard; son, David Lingard; siblings, Anderson, Minerva Faulkner, Norman, Ervin, Ralph and Don.
Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). She will be cremated and her ashes will be spread by the family at her favourite camp. A family gathering to honour her full and vibrant life will be held at a later date.
