We, the family, regret to announce the passing of Georgy Allison ‘Al’ MacLean on July 11, 2021 at home.
Born on November 25, 1956 in Sydney. Al was the son of the late Joe and Marguerite (MacNeil) MacLean.
Al will be fondly remembered as a man who had very strong faith and loved his family. He enjoyed watching all sports and was also known to have one or more household projects on the go. However, Al, was his happiest when spending time with his beloved grandson.
Al is survived by his wife, Susan (Walker) MacLean; children, Leah (Jay), Whitecourt, AB, Bradley, Calgary, AB; grandson, Benjamin; siblings, Fr. Joe, Calgary, Vince (Natalie), Sydney, Ronnie (Trudy), Dartmouth, Steve (Joan), Sydney, and Stephanie, Sydney; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Al is predeceased by his brother, Jamie MacLean and nephew Brandon MacDonald.
Funeral Mass to celebrate the life of Al MacLean will be held at Holy Redeemer Church, Whitney Pier on Tuesday July 20, 2021 at 10 a.m. with Fr. Paul Murphy officiating. Interment will take place in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
‘Covid Protocols’ will be practiced at the service and for those unable to attend, ‘Live Streaming’ will be available on Holy Redeemer’s Facebook page.
Donations in memory of Al may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.
