Cole, Mabel
Vernessa Age 82, of New Harbour,
Guysborough County, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 28,
2021, in Guysborough Memorial Hospital, with her daughter by her side.
Born in Victoria, Newfoundland, she was a daughter of the late John
and Christina (Slade) Cole. Mabel loved life; her kids were everything
to her. She loved knitting socks and mittens. Mabel is survived by her
sons, Cecil (Rose), NFLD; Clyde (Ruby), NFLD; daughters, Marilyn (Pat)
Golway, NFLD; Judy (Harold) Rose, NFLD; Ruth Ann (Gerry)
O’Keefe, NFLD; Lynette (Charlie) Gammon, New Harbour, N.S.;
11 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, sister, Sadie White, Ont.;
many nieces, nephews and their families. She was predeceased by her
husband, Clyde Clarke; a daughter in infancy; grandchildren, Nathan
Clarke, Allison Rose; brothers, David, Silas; sister, Annie; and
nephew, Harold White. In keeping with Mabel’s wishes, she
will be going home to Newfoundland to her final resting place.
Memorial donations may be made to Mabel’s family to help
with expenses to take her home. Funeral arrangements are under the
dignified and compassionate care of G.W. Giffin Funeral Home, 17545
