Maarit Masse 2021

Maarit Masse (née Tamminen) passed away peacefully at home June 23, 2021.
Treasured wife of Rich Masse and proud mother of Sylvia and Richard Jr (RJ). Maarit was born Oct 28, 1970, to Finnish parents Kari (d. 1993) and Marja-Liisa Tamminen (Jokinen). Dearest twin sister of Henry (Ellery) Tamminen. Much-loved daughter-in-law of Dick and Judy Masse, and sister-in-law of Denine (Al) Gough and Jennifer (Tim) Cronsberry. Special aunt to Tabitha, Blair, and Christian; Blake and Laura; Bronte and Jack.
Maarit will be missed as the official family photographer. She had an eye for capturing the spirit of the moment, both big and small. Maarit was also a planner and always ensured that details for gatherings were looked after ahead of time, so that people could just enjoy their time together.
Her dedication to family carried over to the unfailing support she provided for Rich at Dick Masse Homes.
Family, friends and community were always most important to Maarit, and she was grateful for the strong support she and her family received over the past year in particular. She will always be in our hearts.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be announced when Covid-19 protocols allow.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Cancer Unit through the Stratford General Hospital Foundation, 46 General Hospital Dr, Stratford, ON N5A 2Y6.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Maarit
