Obituary of Lynn Hoy
At Wingham & District Hospital on Thursday, February 4th, 2021, R. Lynn Hoy of Wingham passed away peacefully at the age of 87.
Devoted husband of Annabelle (Ewart) Hoy of Wingham. Cherished dad of Brian & Victoria Hoy of Wingham, Terry Hoy & Jacky Murray of Wingham, and Deb & Pat Murray of Lucknow. Dear grandpa of Sarah and Josh Hoy and Emma, Katie and Craig Murray. Brother of Harold Hoy of Owen Sound and brother-in-law of Helen Bryce-Hoy of Kitchener, Don & Bernice Ewart of Owen Sound and Doug & Gladys Ewart of Hanover. Lynn will be lovingly remembered by one nephew and two nieces. Predeceased by his parents Wilfred & Jessie (Brown) Hoy, brother Bill Hoy (Roberta), parents-in-law Alex & Grace Ewart and his first wife Lois Walker.
Lynn was the co-founder of Lynn Hoy Enterprises Ltd. in Wingham which was started in the fall of 1969 out of their home. In 1973, the company expanded and relocated to its present-day location. Lynn also served twice as a Councillor for Morris-Turnberry. Lynn’s outgoing personality and ability to connect with just about anyone will be missed by his entire family, the community of Wingham and all of his customers, past and present.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private family service will be held at McBurney Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, February 6th, 2021 with Reverend Jeff Hawkins officiating. Final resting place, Wingham Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Wingham & District Hospital Foundation or OneCare would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
