Obituary
LYNDA RAE LAIR
June 27, 1947 – May 23, 2021
Lynda was born in Vancouver on June 27, 1947, the eldest and only daughter of Frederick and Edith Adamson. Lynda drove from Vancouver to Fort Nelson for work where she met Leslie. They were married on May 19, 1972, in Edmonton, Alberta and started their life together.
Moving to Palmer, Saskatchewan where Les began a career in the grain buying business, they started their family with the birth of Aaron in March 1974 before moving to Viscount, Saskatchewan. The family grew in August 1976 with the arrival of Shannon. Family was very important to Mom, and she put everything into being a mother. Supporting her children at school events, extra-curricular activities including baseball, Air Cadets, and ringette was a full-time job. She also spent time working at the local library, volunteering at the school and various community activities. It was clear Lynda’s focus was on raising a young family. A final family move to Dinsmore, Saskatchewan in 1989 saw the completion of the kid’s primary education while Lynda worked in the local grocery store and healthcare center.
Mom moved to Saskatoon in 1994 where she worked in the home care industry for several years before going to school to obtain her Medical Office Assistant diploma and pursue a career path in health care. She continued supporting her family with both kids living with her while completing degrees in Accounting and Pharmacy, which she was extremely proud of.
Mom became a Nana in June 2004 with the birth of Aiden and expanded her role in September 2010 with Landen’s arrival. Lynda was always an animal lover but had a clear affection for cats. Many furry companions shared Lynda’s life which she loved dearly. We will remember her love of the outdoors including many camping trips with family, a passion for gardening and spending time in her back yard.
Mom will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her special friend, Murray Regehr of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, her family; her son, Aaron (Sharon) Lair and family, Aiden and Landen Lair of Foothills, Alberta; her daughter, Shannon (Brad) Newcombe of Lethbridge, Alberta; her brother-in-law, Garry Lair and his children, Dennis (Stacy) Lair and their children: Easton and Bryce of Star City, Saskatchewan; Leisa Lair of Sherwood Park, Alberta; brother-in-law, Arnold (Lynne) Lair and their son, Paul Lair of High River, Alberta, her sister-in-law, Mary Anne Kennedy of Shellbrook, Saskatchewan, as well as an extensive network of friends. Lynda was predeceased by her parents, Frederick and Edith Adamson, her uncle, Jack (John) Collinge, and her parents-in-law, Francis and Bella Lair.
There will be a Memorial Service held for Lynda on Saturday, June 5th, 2021, at 11:00am at the Chitek Lake Hall, Chitek Lake, SK.
