Obituary for Lyn Tapp
Tapp, Lynford Earle (Lyn) at the age of 81 on Sunday, June 20, 2021. Son of the late Verna and Earle Tapp. Husband of Elaine Tapp. Dear father of Wendy (Nick) Jones of Poole, England, Brad of London and Graham (Michelle) of Wallaceburg. Grandfather of Emily Tapp and the late Trace Tapp (May 8th, 2021). Lyn was born and raised in Monkton, Ontario; received his secondary education at Mitchell District HD. He graduated from U of T with B. Sc. Phm. 1965. Lyn was director of Pharmacy at Woodstock General Hospital from 1965 to 1972. In the summer of 1972, he came to Wallaceburg and joined the partnership of Norm Jackson Drugs. Following the sale of same (in 2002) – Lyn continued to work for Rexall Pharma Plus until 2014. He was an active member of First Baptist Church, serving on the Board of Management and also as Moderator. Lyn also sang with the choir. He was an active Member of Pnyx Baldoon Lodge No. 312 where he was secretary for 34 years. He was to receive his 60 Master Mason pin in June. He was also a member of Scottish Rite, Chatham Valley. He was a founding member of the Bruce B. Foster Charitable Foundation. Lyn also served on the Board of the Chatham Kent Family Health Team for many years. Family and friends are invited for visitation at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral Services will be held at First Baptist Church (99 Thomas Ave, Wallaceburg) on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at 1pm with visitation 1hr prior.
