Laureano – 90 of
Antigonish Co. and formerly of Charles Cove passed away peacefully at
St. Martha’s Regional Hospital on Thursday, October 14,
2021. He was the son of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Gerrior)
Pellrine.
Luke was owner/operator of a Service Station in
Halifax for 18 years then went on to being an insulator with Union
Local 116 Heat & Frost Workers until his retirement in 1991.
He enjoyed doing anything handyman and shared his skill while helping
others. In recent years he enjoyed visits with the locals, car drives
and was known for his pocket full of candy that he happily shared with
others.
He is survived by his common-law wife Minnie
(Dort Jamieson) and his step-children Glenda (Garry) Irving, Lewis
(Bev) Jamieson, Carolyn Grover, Darlene (Kim Bruke) Jamieson; 7
step-grandchildren; 8 step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and
nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Joseph, Abraham; sisters
Martha, Dorothy and a sister in infancy; Step-son Leon Jamieson and
step-son in-law Roger Grover.
Cremation has taken place and a private family
funeral will be held at St. James Anglican Church in Halfway Cove at
11am on Friday, October 22, 2021 by invitation only. COVID
restrictions will apply. Interment in the St. Joseph’s
Cemetery, Charles Cove. Donations in memory may be made to the St.
James Anglican Church.
