Lucille’s Obituary
Loving mother, grandmother, sister, friend.
Louis and Florette Chateauneuf of McLennan, Alberta. welcomed Lucille Marie, their second of six children into the family on Oct.4, 1952.
Surrounded by her children Lucille surrendered peacefully walking home to the soothing sounds of Charlie Pride on March 8, 2021.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of her children Larry (Ingrid) Warnock, Teresa (Frank) Campbell, Allen (Candice) Ewaskiw, grandchildren: Ashley(Aaron), Jayme (Taylor), Jensen, Ryley, Mackenzie, Mieka and Ashton, great granddaughters: Davi, Parker, Kamryn and Tate.
She will be missed by her family Archie Chateauneuf, Leon (Debbie)Chateauneuf, Simonne (Garrett) Smith, Candis Chateauneuf, Marcel(Elaine) Chateauneuf and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, father, brother Camille Chateauneuf and nephews Denis Chateauneuf and Tyrell Lightfoot.
It is fitting that we said goodbye on “International Woman’s Day”, she pioneered as a working mother raising three caring, strong and compassionate children. She was definitely greeted with challenges, but navigated rough waters with her unfailing devotion to her children while maintaining optimism. Her last decade was a true testament of grit and resilience as she declared to her ever failing body “not today”.
She was humble and kind.
She walked through life quietly creating her own calm.
Grandma Lucy believed that a good time to laugh is anytime you can! Her smile made our world brighter.
Her grandchildren were her light and completed her circle of love.
Grandma Lucy ‘s crush was George Straight, she had the opportunity to see him in concert. She swooned in school girl fashion which her granddaughters loved as they declared her our “hopeless romantic”.
Campfires and camping with family, bowling, cheese whiz on toasted English muffins, Sunday roast dinners, beautifully dainty manicured hands, flapper pie, a romance novel (mini vacation), Diet Coke, mentos and a gentle rain were enough for her.
She loved hard and unconditionally.
Taught us that beauty comes from the heart.
The keeper of African Violets which truly is fitting as they represent delicate love, connection, mother, modesty…
Her gentle, quiet spirit spoke boldly.
Thank you Mom for never becoming exasperated or critical of our imperfections, but always affirming who we were meant to be. You gave us wings!
You made it very hard to turn the next page when we know you won’t be in the next chapter…
Forever in our Hearts.
