Obituary for Lucienne Bunda
It is with heavy hearts that we must announce the passing of Lucienne Bunda at her home, (where she wanted to be) on September 25, 2021 at age of 97. She is now reunited with her beloved husband Wesley Bunda and her son David. Lucienne will be missed by her loving daughter Carol (Michael Sanchioni) and granddaughter Sarah.
Born in Ghent Belgium, and the only child of the late Remi and Euphrasie DeBruyker. She met Wesley Bunda during the war and came to Canada in 1947, married and adjusted very well into small town country life.
She was a founding member of Schizophrenic Chatham-Kent Chapter and a member of the St.Thomas and Sarnia Chapters. Also involved with the Women’s Institute with Becher and later the Tweedmuir branch and brave enough to take a balloon ride. She loved her property north of Sault Ste Marie Ont. and made many friends there too. She was a 52-year member of the Catholic Women’s League with Our Lady Help of Christians Church.
Family and friends are invited for visitation at the Haycock-Cavanagh Funeral Home, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg, On Thursday October 7, 2021 from 5-8 pm. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at Our Lady Help of Christians Church on Friday Oct 8, 2021 at 11:am with burial at Riverview Cemetery to follow.
