PIETERS, Lucien (Pete)-

On Thursday, September 30, 2021, Lucien Leon Edward Pieters, loving husband and father passed away at the age of 85. Lucien was born in Tillsonburg on February 26, 1936, to the late Edward and Celestine Pieters. Loving and devoted husband of 61 wonderful year to Betty (Kersten) Pieters, of Brantford. The best father to Brenda Pieters Mohammed (2001); Mary Jane (Ted) Kotewicz and Edward Pieters (2015). Much loved grandpa to Kyle (Katie), Justin & Brittany Kotewicz, Ryan Pieters, Braeden (Rubz) & Caelyn Mohammed. Great grandpa to Azariah Brooks. Survived by a caring brother George (MaryAnn) Pieters.
Predeceased by his brothers: Roger (Antoinette); Adlen (Margaret); Omer (Kathleen); Johnny (survived by Pat); and Jimmy Predeceased by his sisters: Dorothy (survived by Urban); Doreen (survived by George); Diane (Leonard) and infant sister Doris.
Lucien was the Manager of Brant Manor Apartments for 35 years with Betty working side by side. Some may also know him from his tobacco or TV years, but his favourite job was being a grandpa, which gave him the most joy.
In Celebrating Lucien’s Life, a Funeral Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 7th, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. in the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes- Burial and Cremation Services Inc. Chapel, 40 Queen Street, Langton, by Rev. Fr. Thomas Kuriacko, of Sacred Heart R.C. Church, Langton. Internment follows in the Sacred Heart R.C. Cemetery, 24 Albert Street, Langton. All who knew Lucien are invited to attend a public visitation on Thursday October 7th from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Due to government covid-related protocols social distancing and masks are required. All guests must pre-register for an available time slot via Lucien’s online tribute page at www.verhoevefuneralhomes.com or by calling the funeral home between 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (519-842-4238).
Memorial Donations to “Multiple Sclerosis of Canada”, “Canadian Cancer Society” or “Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario” would be greatly acknowledged by the family and can be made on Lucien’s online tribute page or by cheque through the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes.
