ELSIPOGTOG, NB – It is with great sadness that the
family announces the peaceful passing of Louise Francis at the Stella
Maris Hospital in Ste-Anne-de-Kent on Monday, October 18,
2021. Born in Big Cove, she was the daughter of the late
Noel Sock and late Madeline (Milliea) Sock. Louise was the
eldest community member in Elsipogtog. Louise was a gentle,
kind hearted, loving woman that enjoyed basket weaving, making
wreaths, playing bingo and poker. She was especially known for her pie
baking skills and making cookies for the neighborhood
children.
Louise will be sadly missed by her six daughters, Mary Louise
Steigert of Bangor, ME, Eva Graham (Robert) of St. Charles, Arlene
Michael (late Alex) of Whycocomagh, NS, Marcie Francis (Paul), Corner
Brook, NL, Connie Nevin (William) of Elsipogtog, Lynn Francis (Oaspo)
of Rexton; three sons, Stanley Francis of Elsipogtog, Hubert Francis
(Mary Florence) of Elsipogtog, Brian Francis (Carrie) of Main River
and her eighty-eight grandchildren, great grandchildren and great
great grandchildren.
The last surviving member of her immediate family, she was
predeceased by her parents; her husband of 61 years, the late Chief
Anthony Francis; two sons, Peter, Emery, one infant daughter; one
granddaughter, Shyla Louise; one sister, Mary Margaret and three
brothers, John, Larry and Jacob.
Visitation will be held at her home, 21 Union Street,
Elsipogtog beginning on Friday at 11:00 am until time of the
funeral. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday,
October 23, 2021 at 10:30 am at St. Anne’s Roman Catholic
Church in Elsipogtog.

Thompson’s Funeral Home in Richibucto (523-4252).
