Louisa Webster Saturday October 2nd 2021

We lost our beautiful mom, grandmother, granny, aunt, and sister Louisa on October 2, 2021 in her 94th year. Louisa Grace Webster (nee Clayton) born March 26, 1928 to Grace and James Clayton (both deceased)
Cherished mother of Irene Ferguson, Betty Smith, Fred Armstrong (Ellen), Barb Saunders (Jerry), Tom Armstrong (Shelley), Grace Schoep (Wim), June Todd (Bob) and Colleen Howson (Bruce). Pre-deceased by sons in law, Norm Ferguson and Kenneth Smith.
Beloved Sister of Stan Clayton (Peg), Linda Bodkin (Ron), Jeanette Tauber (Dave) Judy Paton, Mike Clayton (Karen). Pre-deceased by brother Jack Clayton, sister Jeanne Alexander and brother-in-law
Samuel Lindsay Alexander.
Louisa was a very proud “Gramma” and “Aunt” and will be greatly missed by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and her nieces and nephews.
Louisa loved to sing and was a member to the “Golden Tones” in Peterborough and the St. Andrews choir for many years. Louisa was a very skilled crocheter and crocheted beautiful baby blankets for her children and grandchildren as well as many other delightful knitted and crocheted items over the years. She knit mittens, hats and scarves for family and for those who needed them and donated them through the church.
Louisa made fantastic shortbread, fudge, and chocolate macaroons that were loved by her whole family and which often went missing off the plate before the party started. Louisa was a great card player and enjoyed playing euchre and bingo at her apartment building with her many friends there.
We are grateful for the time we have had to say goodbye and are thankful for the many years she had with us. We are a lucky family.
Family and friends will be received between the hours of 1-4 pm at Ashburnham Funeral Home on Sunday October 17th to celebrate Louisa’s life and the life of her son-in-law, the late Mr. Kenneth Smith (1948-2021).
Registration is required and may be made online at AshburnhamFuneral.ca or by calling 705 740 0444.
Donations in Louisa’s honour can be made to Hospice Peterborough or The Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.
