Louis Amiro
Louis Joseph Amiro, age 90 of Lower Woods Harbour passed away
November 30, 2021 at home. Born in Lower East Pubnico, he
was a son of the late Oscar Jeremiah and Annie Louise Amiro.
Louis was a laborer who worked at Sealife Fisheries. He is
survived by his wife Rosemarie Vaughn (Goreham) Amiro; daughters,
Valerie (David) Belliveau, Lower East Pubnico and Karla Ross, Ottawa,
Ontario; brothers, Lawrence (Alice) Amiro, Lower East Pubnico and
grandchildren, Jayson, Parker, Lundyn and Sydney. He was
predeceased by his brother George and sisters, Florence
d’Eon and Vivian Amirault. Visitation will be held
in West Pubnico Funeral Home, Middle West Pubnico on Friday, December
3, 2021 from 7-9pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be held
Saturday, December 4, 2021 from Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic
Church, Middle East Pubnico at 10am with Fr. Cyrille Assihou
officiating. Interment will be in the parish
cemetery. Proof of vaccination must be provided and masks
must be worn to enter both the funeral home and the church.

Louis was a kind and gentle soul. He was fondly
called Gunka by his immediate family whom he loved unconditionally. He
was a devout Roman Catholic, and when attending mass became too
difficult, he watched twice daily from home. He was a smart man who
loved getting the answers right to the game shows he watched daily.
Louis was gifted with the natural ability to play any instrument upon
picking it up and could play a song by ear after only hearing it a
couple of times. He graced many places with his talents but especially
loved playing at the local kitchen parties in his later years, where
he loved to sing his old favorites.
The music may end, but the melody will live on in our hearts
forever.
