It is with immense sadness that we announce the departure of Lorraine, age 45, on Sunday, February 14, 2021. Lorraine became known as ‘Ant Raine’ by her nieces and nephews, and various others who came to love her. She was always there.
Lorraine was born on February 2, 1976, and raised in the town of North Sydney, where she raised her children with love and brought a smile to everyone’s face. Her door was always open, it was always tea time, and everyone was family.
Lorraine was first and foremost, a mother. She was also a life-loving free spirit. She loved the beach, the summer, and music, just to name a few. She always danced like no one was watching.
Lorraine is survived by her children Kaitlyn Dove (Shawn), Tyler Dove, Ashlea Marie Matthews, and Marissa Matthews, and her loving grandchildren Carter and Kayden Forrest. She also leaves behind her mother Lillian Matthews, and her siblings Crystal Matthews (Melvin), Juanita Matthews (Joe), Kathy Matthews, Billy Matthews, Jimmy Matthews and Jason Matthews. Countless others considered her a mother, sister and friend.
She was predeceased by her father James Matthews and her life-long friend Ricky Dove.
