LORRAINE LÉON (NEE BEAUPRÉ)
1947-2021
On a Saturday night Lorraine headed off to her next great event.
July 3rd, 2021 Lorraine’s family said goodbye to a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was surrounded by family in body and spirit at home, where she wanted to be, and we are so grateful
Lorraine is now with her parents (Rita & Leonard Beaupré), brothers (John, Brian & Richard) & beloved son Steven. She is survived by her husband Robert, her daughter Deborah (Mark), her grandsons Andrew, Sam (Hannah Jane), and Cody (Tessa). Her grandsons and great-granddaughters, Payton & Laicey, were her shining light.
Thanks so much to friends and family for your support. Big thank you to her lifelong medical heros that started with Dr. Wilbur Keon in 1972, when her children were 4 and 6 months old. Lorraine had her mechanical valves replaced 4 times in her lifetime, each surgery was done by the best – the chiefs. She always had time for eager medical students to come in for a listen and ask their questions – all while balancing her career at Nortel and motherhood. In gratitude for service, Lorraine volunteered at The Ottawa Heart Institute Alumni Foundation for many years. She was an incredible role model, a true matriarch and a great friend to many.
Lorraine was a beautiful lady filled with honour, grace and style that included a stunning dose of fun, humour and love of family. She had a whole, great big life and we already miss her so much.
Due to Covid, Lorraine will be interned with her son Steven at an understated, yet intimate, graveside service for family.
