McNutt, Lloyd Wimburn
– 85, of Bible Hill passed away on November 7, 2021 in
Colchester East Hants Health Centre. Born in Bible Hill, he was a son
of Ira W. “Wimby” and Kathleen “Kitty” McNutt, the
middle child of eleven children.
Lloyd is survived by
his wife of 58 years, Eleanor Lillian (Monk) McNutt; daughters, Lisa
(Aric Sarson), Edmonton; Teresa (James Collicutt), Sydney; son,
Timothy (Jennifer), Lower Sackville; grandsons, Aidan (Alanna
Stolyar), Edmonton; Johnathan, Lower Sackville; granddaughters,
Rebecca and Carolynn, Lower Sackville; great granddaughter, Rayna,
Edmonton; sisters, Ella (Morton, deceased) Roddick, Summerside; Lena
(Edward, deceased) Callis, Halifax; Janet (Cecil, deceased) Holland,
Shad Bay; Kay (David) Stewart, Lower Truro; Pat (James) Stewart, Lower
Sackville; brothers-in-law, Elmer (Elvina) Monk, Kelowna; Robert
(Darlene) Monk, Lower Truro; and many nieces, nephews and
cousins.
He was predeceased by
brothers, Foster and David; sisters, Evelyn (Wilfred) LeBlanc; Lucy
(James) Matheson; Joyce (Alan) Lewis; sisters-in-law, Alice Monk and
Sheryl Monk.
Lloyd drove a school
bus for over twenty years and charter buses for both Acadia Lines and
MacLellan’s bus lines. He had also been a cub and scout
leader. Lloyd was a member of the Bible Hill Garden Club and took
great pride in his vegetable garden with “straight rows”.
After retirement, he enjoyed woodworking and pieces of his furniture
will be treasured by many friends and relatives. Lloyd enjoyed
camping, fishing, hunting and anything related to nature. He was the
neighbourhood Mr. Fix-it and especially enjoyed time spent with family
and friends. He was proud of all his family to whom he will be greatly
missed.

Lucy Helyer and her surgical team at the VG Site, QEII Health Sciences
Centre, Halifax; the health care workers there and in the Emergency
Department and Intensive Care Unit at Colchester East Hants Health
Centre; the VON; and Lloyd’s doctor for many years, Dr.
Trevor Locke. All of his medical staff were fantastic workers and
their support was greatly appreciated.
Arrangements have been
entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young
Street, Truro, where Lloyd’s family will receive friends
from 2-4 p.m., Saturday, November, 13, 2021. (Please
note that proof of double vaccination and photo identification will be
requested prior to entry to the funeral home for visitation and masks
must be worn at all times; thank you for your co-operation and
understanding.) There will be no funeral service by
Lloyd’s request. Interment will be held at a later date. If
so desired, memorial gifts may be made to QEII Health Sciences Centre
Foundation, Colchester East Hants Health Centre Foundation, Victoria
Order of Nurses, or a charity of choice. Private messages of
