It is with profound sorrow that the family of Marica (Mary) Livojevic (née Horvat) announces her passing on October 22 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Marica will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 67 years, Ivan (John); children, Vladimir (Kim), Marianne; grandchildren, Lindsay, Lisa (Kyle), and Michelle; and numerous other family members and friends.
Marica was predeceased by her parents, Stejpan and Kata and siblings, Miha and Magda. She is survived by her brothers, Nikola and Josip and sister, Ana.
Marica was born in a small village in Croatia and in her early 20’s she and her husband Ivan came to Canada. Marica was a devoted wife and mother who loved her family dearly. She was an active member in the Croatian Catholic Church and would regularly contribute and participate in community activities and events. Marica was an accomplished, self-taught seamstress and loved to cook and bake – you would never leave her home hungry. She always had a smile on her face, warmth in her heart and was kind to everyone. She was a truly incredible woman. We are all so blessed to have had her in our lives.
A Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 pm on Wednesday October 27, 2021 at Connelly- McKinley Funeral Home, 10011 114 Street NW, Edmonton.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday October 28, 2021 at 10:00 am at the Nativity of Mary Catholic Church, 10560 98 Street NW, Edmonton.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Cancer Society.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at St Joseph Auxiliary Hospice for their care and compassion.
