Lillian Joyce Lilly Wells July 28th 2021

“Heaven has gained the most beautiful angel!”
On July 28th, 2021, Lillian “Lilly” Joyce Wells passed peacefully into her eternal home with her family at her bedside at the age of 61 years.
Lilly is predeceased by her father – Wilfred Wilson Wells.
Leaving to mourn with loving memories is her mother – Vera (Eddy) Wells (Ellis Bridger); siblings – Wilson Wells (Heather), Rob Wells (Katherine) and Karen Trickett (David). Her true pride and joy, nieces – Rebecca, Danielle, Heidi, Sophia and great-niece – Rayah; nephews – James, Andrew, Kohyn, Brandon and Carter and great-nephew – Jude. Lilly was also blessed with a large and loving circle of other relatives and friends.
Lillian was born in Corner Brook, NL and spent a memorable childhood growing up in her hometown of Wild Cove, White Bay. She lived with her dear Aunt Joyce Regular in Baie Verte during her high school years and there began her lifelong passion of caring for children, working as a live-in nanny with the Loveman family who loved her like one of their own.
After leaving Baie Verte in the 90’s, she moved around, working in different homes before settling in St. John’s to be closer to her sister and family. She continued her career as a child caregiver while enjoying many activities around town – birthday hotel getaways, shows at the Arts and Culture Centre, and people gazing at Middle Cove Beach were just a few of the delights in her life. She took pleasure in baking treats and cooking meals to share with her neighbors, including the mailmen, who didn’t want their routes to change so as not to miss out on her baked goodies. Her smiles and funny wit, she shared with everyone who knew and met her.
Special thanks to close and dearest friends Gertie Ricketts, Judy Loveman, Joan Benoit, and Jody Trevors who spent many hours chatting on the phone and visiting with her this past year. The family would also like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff of St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital, 4 West.
Interment will take place at a later date.
As an expression of sympathy, att Lilly’s request, donations can be made to the Janeway Children’s Hospital Foundation (janewayfoundation.nf.ca/).
