Lillian Josephine Nelson
December 09, 1929 – November 18, 2021

Nelson, Lillian Josephine
Lillian Nelson was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She left this world on November 18, 2021, just on the edge of turning 92 years of age.
Lillian was born to James and Elizabeth Meehan on December 9, 1929, into a family that eventually had eight children. She met her husband Chuck Nelson in Halifax. Together they had two children, Michael and Bruce.
Lillian will be remembered and missed by her sisters Anne and Cecilia, her daughter-in-law Anne, Bruce’s partner Heather, her granddaughter Keri, Anne’s children Stephen, Rachelle and Elyse, her nieces and nephews, and her many friends.
Lillian loved to spend time in the kitchen and was renowned for happily making delicious meals and treats for not only her family, but for friends and neighbours. Her work with the St. Andrew’s Parish CWL brought her great joy and companionship for several decades.
Many thanks to the wonderful staff at the Dickson Centre, Home Palliative Care, VON, Dartmouth General Hospital and EHS for their care and compassion.
For the moment, we will all reflect on our loss. In the spring, there will be a celebration of Lillian’s life and an interment. In lieu of flowers, any donations can be made to a charity of choice. Online condolences may be made at www.dartmouthfuneralhome.ca.
