It is with deep sorrow and great love that we mourn the passing of a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother, Lillian “Lil” Jessome on Saturday, July 24th, 2021, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital in the company of her loving family.
Born in Sydney Mines, on April 9, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Sabatino and Pasqualine Bianchini. Lillian will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her husband and best friend of sixty years, Reginald, her children Anne and Gerard (Kim) and grandchildren Matthew, Faith, Abbie and Debra.
Family was the cornerstone of Lil’s life. She was a fully devoted homemaker who deeply loved caring for her loved ones. The simplest pleasures in life brought her great joy whether it be visiting with family and friends or spending time in the kitchen preparing her “world famous” lasagna. Her endearing personality was contagious to everyone she met.
Lil was a devout Catholic and a longtime member of St. Joseph’s Parish, Bras d’Or. Her spiritual leadership and strong faith provided insurmountable support for her family as she led by example.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters Liz (Archie) Riga, Beanie (Colin) Livingstone, Vinnie (Stewart) Matheson, Rosie (Ephriam) Arsenault and Sundie (Gerald) McInnis, as well as her brothers, Joe Mick Constantine, Lorenso “Jimmy” Constantine and Joseph (Marie) Bianchini
The family would like to extend our thanks to the staff at the Cape Breton Cancer Center and An Cala Palliative Care at the Cape Breton Reginal Hospital for their compassionate care.
A funeral mass for Lilian will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at St. Joseph Church, Bras d’Or. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney. Memorial donations may be made in Lil’s honour to the Cape Breton Hospice Society in support for their new facility.
