Leslie’s Obituary
Passed away peacefully in his 98th year, after a courageous battle with cancer, on March 24, 2021 at Stedman Community Hospice in Brantford, with his daughter, granddaughter and son-in-law by his side & holding his hands. Beloved husband of 74 years of the late Joan Murden (February 2020), cherished father of Robert Murden of Fenwick and Karen and Sigmar Imgrund of Paris. Much loved poppa of Scott (Christina), Glenn (Lisa), Phil (Emmylou), Ryan (Sara), Mark (Ashley) and Ashley (Ryand). Pre-deceased by grandson Cameron (1992). Great-poppa to many cherished great-grandchildren. Much loved Uncle of Pat Rekker (John). He will be dearly missed by his extended family and many dear friends. Leslie was a WWII veteran who served and fought proudly for his country in Belgium, France, Holland, Germany and Great Britain, where he met and married Joan Tizzard, bringing her to Canada as a War Bride in 1945. Special thanks to the caring and compassionate staff at Stedman Community Hospice and Queensview Retirement home.
Funeral arrangements been entrusted to the DWAYNE D. BUDGELL Funeral Home. Due to the Covid -19 pandemic and subsequent restrictions on gathering, the family will celebrate Leslie’s life privately. In Leslie’s memory, donations to the War Amps (www.waramps.ca/home) would be appreciated by the family.
