It is with great sorrow that the family announces his peaceful passing, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, August 1, 2021 at the age of 80 years. Beloved husband of Noëlla (née Caron) McLean. Son of the late Elphège and the late Simonne (née Verrier) McLean. Loving father of Gérald, Laurence (Rob Sauvé), Chantal (Marcellin Leroux), France (Claude Leroux) and Francine (Claude Gagné). Cherished grandfather of 20 grandchildren, Cassandre McLean-Ikauno (Stéphane ), Matthieu McLean (Eileen), François-Xavier McLean (Renée), Véronique Raymond (Patricia), Samuel McLean, Joseph McLean, Myriam McLean (Marc-André Cyr), Jean-Sébastien McLean (Tyler Bélanger), Katéri McLean (Andrew Cummings), Renée Daigle, Corey Lachapelle, Janyka Leroux, Pasquinel Leroux, Jonathan Leroux, Sabrina Leroux, Justin Leroux, Zacharie Gagné (Julie Vachon), Patrick Gagné and Mélanie Gagné. Great-grandfather of Mikaï, Liam, Lilianne, Eva, Janelle, Noah, Alexie and Sofia. Dear brother of Maurice (Anita), Aline Léveillé-Mallet, Fern, Robert (Réjeanne), André (Carole), Rémi (Janet) and Denise (Ronald Paynter). Predeceased by his brothers Roland (Shirley) and Gilles (Janelle) and by his grandson Guy Daigle. Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He grew up on a farm in Englehart. At 18 years old becomes a miner until age 74; his expertise was underground drilling, became one of the best according to brother Bob. Carpenter, electrician, plumber…jack of all trades, he pursues adventure in retail. Owned Confectionery Store in Timmins two years, and General Store in Spanish ten years, owned trailer park with brother Moe for many years. For 17 years, volunteered as firefighter with brother Roland and many years as volunteer paramedic with sister Aline in Spanish. Knight of Columbus since April 1973 and became a 4th degree knight. Loved playing cards: euchre, cribbage, etc…, musician who enjoyed to play accompanied by his son, and brother Bob, loved to entertain family and friends. End of July 2018, admitted to HSN due to kidney failure; diabetic at 50 years old. August 2018, dialysis three times per week until July 22nd ,2021. No longer having energy or strength, for ten days he is surrounded by family and draws his last breath August 1st. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to all personnel at Dialysis, all PSWs especially Alice and Tim, and nurse Doris to name a few.

Family and relatives are invited for a gathering at the Cooperative Funeral Home, 4691 R.R. 15, Chelmsford on Friday, August 6, 2021 from 2-4 p.m. Friends and the public are welcome to attend at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. Wearing of masks and social distancing are mandatory. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Ste-Agnès Church, Azilda. Donations can be made by cheque or online to Diabetes Canada. www.cooperativefuneralhome.ca
