Obituary of Leone Joyce Conrad
CONRAD, Leone Joyce – Age 97, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2021 at Mahone Nursing Home, Mahone Bay. Born in Broad Cove, she was the only child of the late Ellsworth and Dora Wagner (Conrad). Leone was a lifetime member of St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Broad Cove for which she received a plaque in recognition of her 50 years of service as a secretary and treasurer. She also served as president of junior and senior Sunday School. Leone was also grand noble of Turquise Lodge, of West Dublin. She was and active member of A.C.W. which she also served as president. She loved social functions and took part in all events in the community.
Surviving are her sons, Paul (Donna), Hebbville, Wayne (Iona), Lower Sackville; grandchildren, Steven Conrad, Lower Sackville, Paulette (Keith) White, Middle Sackville; great-grandchildren, Rylee, Logan, Samantha and Charlotte. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought great joy to her life as did all children. She was predeceased her husband, Roland.
There will bed no visitation by request. Family flowers only, donations may be made to St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Broad Cove.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 27, 2021 in St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Broad Cove. A burial will be held in Hillside Cemetery, Broad Cove.
Cremation has taken place and arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home of Bridgewater, 35 York St., where online condolences and donations may be made by visiting: www.sweenysfuneralhome.com
