Obituary of Leonard Joseph Landry
LANDRY, Leonard J.
Loch Broom Loop
LANDRY, Leonard Joseph, age 100, formerly of the Loch Broom Loop, passed away September 10, 2021 in the Northumberland Veteran’s Unit, Sutherland Harris Memorial Hospital, Pictou. Born in Marble Mountain, Cape Breton, Leonard was a son of the late Edward & Eva (Luce) Landry. He had a brother, Ernest and three sisters, Edna, Mary Jane, and Eunice. A veteran of World War II, Leonard served two years in infantry and was with the Pictou Highlanders. He was employed for many years with the Canadian National Railway. He is survived by nephews, Kevin and Paul Landry, Bill Downs, and Bobby Langille; nieces, Dorothy MacIntosh, Patsy McCara, Margie LeBlanc, and Muriel MacPhail. He was predeceased by his wife, Lottie in 2013, and two sons in infancy. A public graveside service will be held at 3:00PM on Wednesday in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens. No flowers by request. Donations in his memory may be made to the S.P.C.A. www.mclarenfuneral.ca
