Leonard Brian Okanee was born on July 9, 1953 to Donald Angus and Louisa Okanee at Thunderchild First Nation.
He is predeceased by: his parents, Donald and Louisa; his common-law wife, Michelle; his brother, James; and numerous other family members.
He is survived by: his daughters, Danielle, Raven, and Kelly; his brothers, Ken, Gordon, Larry, and Dennis; his sister, Evonne; his grandchildren, Jack, and Brook; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Leonard worked as a youth councillor for Neechi for 25 years. He cared deeply about his people. He wanted to help the youth stay off the streets. He also loved his family dearly.
