Obituary of Leona Mary Marks
It is with deep sadness that the family of Leona Mary Marks announces her passing on Friday, February 12th, 2021 at Rocmaura. Loving wife to the late Gerald Clarence Marks who predeceased her in 2002. Gerald and Leona met each other at a young age and celebrated over 40 years of marriage. Together they had five children Paul Marks (Kim Clattenburg), Alan Marks (Pam Marks), Cheryl Carter (Peter Carter), Arnold Marks (predeceased), and Shayne Marks (predeceased); Leona will be greatly missed by her daughter-in-law Darlene Almon. Cherished sister to Marie Mallette (Peter Mallette), Marlene McHugh, Neina McLellan (predeceased), Pat McHugh (predeceased), Don McHugh (predeceased). Loving grandmother to Kyle Carter (Ploy Nilkamhaeg), Mike Carter (Erica Bannister), and Katrina Paquin (Dean Paquin); great-grandmother to Addison Carter, and Jaydon, Emma, and Ava Paquin; and aunt to many nieces and nephews. Even though our hearts are broken we find comfort knowing that Leona will be reunited with her soul mate Gerald, siblings and two sons.
We will be forever grateful for the staff in Hopewell Court at Rocmaura. They showed great kindness, compassion, and respect for our mother always. We genuinely appreciate all that they did; they truly went above and beyond.
Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). In keeping with the COVID 19 restrictions, the funeral service will be private. For those who wish, donations and expressions of sympathy can be made in Leona’s memory to the Food Bank of your choice.
