Leo Thomas Dunphy, of East Chezzetcook died in Twin Oaks Memorial Hospital in Musquodoboit Harbour on November 16, 2021 at the age of 88 years.
Born in East Chezzetcook on June 23, 1933 he was the fourth child of the late Frederick James Dunphy and Annie Blanche (Cooper) Dunphy. Leo still resided in the home he grew up in. He loved animals and birds and over the years raised cattle and exotic birds. He had a particular fondness for dogs and since childhood, always had a canine companion.
Leo is survived by his nieces and nephews and their families. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by siblings Evelyn Mary, Clyde Lawrence and Murray James.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday November 23 at 11:00 a.m. Saint John of the Cross Parish (Saint Genevieve Church), 723 East Chezzetcook Road, with Father Vincent Onyekelu, officiating.
Interment in Saint Genevieve Cemetery will follow mass.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, proof of double vaccination, ID and masks are required.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to Saint John of the Cross Parish would be appreciated.
