Lena Odessia Mitchell – age 85 of Knoxville passed away Tuesday, August 10, 2021. Member of Loveland Baptist Church for 35 years and a current member of Clear Springs Baptist Church for 5 years. She worked for 18 years at Holston Hills Country Club and 13 years at Litton’s Market and Restaurant. Lena was an avid reader. The joy of her life was helping to raise her grandchildren, Hayley and Matthew.
Preceded in death by parents, Lee and Ida O’Dell, and 9 siblings.
Survived by loving husband of 64 years, Jerry D. Mitchell; daughters, Paula (Ray) Buttrey and Denise (Jeff) Jinnett; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Special thank you to Dr. Fred Hurst and nurse Irene.
Family and friends will gather 10:45 AM on Friday, August 13, 2021, at Berry Highland South for an 11:00 AM graveside service.
