Lee Ann Hartnett
May 21, 1937 – May 05, 2021
Lee Ann Hartnett, 83, née Hould, of Dartmouth passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 5th at the Parkstone Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. She was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Elizabeth Ann Hould (Bubar) of New Glasgow. Lee Ann leaves behind four children – Cheryl Ann Hartnett of Salisbury, Maryland; Pamela, Paul and Michael Hartnett, all of Halifax; and a granddaughter, Rebecca Hartnett of Cobden, Ontario. She is predeceased by two brothers, Barry Hould of Moncton, and Paul Hould of New Glasgow. Lee Ann is also survived by a sister, Shan Warder of Brockville, Ontario. Her former husband of twenty-seven years, John (Jack) Anthony Hartnett, predeceases her as well. Her children remember her for her irrepressible sense of humour, her determined optimism in the face of adversity, and her deep and abiding faith in God and the teachings of the Catholic Church. Her eldest daughter, Cheryl Ann, is particularly grateful for all the hard work Mom did in helping her build up the muscles in her right leg after being diagnosed with cerebral palsy at the age of two. Lee Ann was also a highly creative person; putting her considerable talents to every endeavor she put her hand at, whether it was painting seascapes, sewing, Christmas decorating or celebrating family occasions. Her children appreciated her efforts at creating special memories for us, and we love her dearly for it. We would also like to thank the staff and the nurses at Mount Lane, Parkstone Enhanced Care for their attentive care of our mother during her stay there. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations can be made in her name to the following organizations: the Alzheimer’s Association of Canada (alzheimer.ca) or the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation (heartandstroke.ca).
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Lee Ann Hartnett May 21 1937 May 05 2021..
