Obituary
Lawrence Ambrose Patrick Bruch was born on April 11, 1955 in Victoria, British Columbia. He passed away on August 6, 2021 in Calgary, Alberta.
Lawrence (Larry,) grew up in Victoria B.C. then moved to Calgary in 1973 because of a job transfer within Woolworths. From there he attended SAIT between 1974 and 1976 where he studied Business Administration. After graduation he started with Gulf Canada where he met his wife Karen.
Fast forward to 1981, colleagues became husband and wife. In 1980 Larry began a 39-year career at MJ Systems. Worthy of mention there were a couple of other jobs along the way including American Hospital Supplies and Calgary Office Interiors.
Although very well respected for his hard work at all employers anyone who knew him understood that family came first. He was an accomplished family organizer and embraced leadership in both corporate and social life. Of note, the Mulligan Cup (golf tournament), Banff Calgary Relay (Running), commemorating milestone birthdays and weddings, family reunions, MJ Systems cow-chip chucking, and Cowboy Bob Stampede Yahoos.
Larry was a loving provider and the greatest grandfather ever. Controversial for some, he was an avid Montreal Canadiens, Habs fan; played hockey, golf, football, baseball, volleyball and enjoyed many other sports.
He was an accomplished IRONER, self-assumed amazing painter with aspirations of being a professional artist. He also had designs on becoming a restauranteur with menus revolving around the idea that any meal is made better with the addition of Bacon and Peas. His signature always included a smiley face and an indication he was a huge Stampede enthusiast.
Larry was pre-deceased by his father Joseph and Karen’s parents and siblings.
He is survived by wife Karen, his son Corey (Lindsay), his daughter Kayla (Michael) and grandchildren Elinor and Abe as well as his mother Josephine, 10 siblings and their spouses and children:
