Laurie’s Obituary
(Studley) Renaud, Laurie Jean – 75, formally of South Yarmouth, Massachusetts and Shelburne, Nova Scotia, died peacefully on March 17, 2021 at the Meadows in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. She leaves behind two daughters; Sarah Renaud (Josh Brown), and Colette (Jody) Dedrick, both of Shelburne, Nova Scotia and four grandchildren; Jeremy Renaud, Nathaniel Brown, Sadie Oikle and Lia Oikle.
Daughter of the late Kenneth Harvey and Sarah (Brownlie) Studley, Laurie was born in Buffalo, New York and raised in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, Laurie fell in love with Scotia while travelling with her husband on their honeymoon and decided to make it her permanent home.
Laurie spent many years working at the Ross Thomson House and Museum where she lovingly tended the gardens and welcomed many visitors with her passion for sharing the stories of the past.
As a volunteer in the community, she dedicated her efforts to such organizations as Schooner Players, Dancing Beggars, Art on the Beach, Clown workshop, and taking part in many of Shelburne’s rich arts and cultural celebrations.
She will be remembered as a creative and artistic mother and grandmother whose kind spirit resonated with all who were lucky enough to have known her.
Please plant something this spring in her memory.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Shelburne. A private service will be held at a later date. On-line condolences may be left for the family at www.huskilson.net
