Laurie Arthur Hebb – age 83, of Weston, passed away
peacefully on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 in the Valley Regional
Hospital, Kentville. Born in Leminster, Hants County, he was a son to
the late Wilfred and Marjorie (Mahoney) Hebb. Laurie started as a
worker on the Albert Franey Farm, Weston, where he was employed for
many years. He owned and operated his own farm, L.A. Hebb Hog Farm on
Brooklyn Street until his death. Laurie was a hard worker all his life
and he claimed his pleasure was in farming. He is survived by his
sons, Timothy “Tim” (Angie) Hebb, Weston; Anthony (Nina)
Hebb, Wilmot; grandchildren, Josie Mae, Angus, Mitchell, Arielle and
Tiffany; five additional grandchildren; great-grandson, Sullivan; six
additional great-grandchildren; sister, Eleanor Redden, Martock; twin
brother, Lester (Nancy) Hebb, Central North River; sister-in-law,
Doris Hebb, Billtown; several nieces, nephews. He was predeceased by
sister, Helen; brothers, Gordon, Russell, Melvin (Karleen), Francis
(Jean) and a sister in infancy. Cremation has taken place and there
will be no visitation, by request. A graveside service will be held at
1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 11, 2021 in the Vaughan’s
United Church Cemetery, 1640 New Ross Road, Vaughan, Hants County. The
family extends special thanks to the VON; the palliative care team,
especially Tara Dubuc as well as the doctors, nurses and staff of the
Valley Regional Hospital for their kind and compassionate care.
Donations in memory may be made to a charity of one’s
choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral
Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
