Laura’s Obituary
PRIME, Laura Margaret – 80, of Morristown, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 27, 2021 in Liberty Lodge, Morristown. Born in Rossway, Digby County, she was a daughter of the late David and Winona (Nichols) Balser. Laura was a lifelong member of the Western Track Mission and she was an active member in the Morristown Baptist Church. She led a weekly in-house Bible study at Liberty Lodge and volunteered at Grand View Manor giving knitting lessons and reading aloud to others. She was a part of the Open Arms and the Evangeline Club communities and was a regular contributing advocate for the Valley Care Pregnancy Center. Laura always held her family and friends in high regard. She was passionate about nature, knitting, reading, and loving people to Jesus. Laura is survived by her sisters Hazel Kelly, Annapolis; Jean (Emanuel) Lawrence, Halifax; Ruth Anne Sabean, Cornwallis Park; brothers Charlie Balser, Digby; Oscar (Eleanor) Balser, Bear River; sister-in-law Debbie Balser, Digby; aunt Janice Trimper, Ontario; many cherished nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews and their families. Besides her parents, Laura was predeceased by her brother Willard, niece Susan Jane in infancy, nephew Davis, brothers-in-law Jerry Kelly and Gary Sabean. There will be visitation at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 2, 2021 followed by a funeral service at 3:30 pm both in Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, (902) 825-3448. Pastor Chad Clements officiating. Interment will be in the Morristown Cemetery. Donations in Laura’s memory may be made to the Morristown Baptist Church, Gideon Bibles, Valley Care Pregnancy Center, or Liberty Lodge, Morristown.
