Marilyn passed away peacefully, at the age of 84, on November 21st, 2021 in her home. Marilyn was born in Victoria, BC, on June 17, 1937, the daughter of the late Harold H. Townsend and Violet (Rowlinson) Townsend. She was the youngest child in a family of 6.
Marilyn was predeceased by her husband Charles Kilby; her sons Steven Brooks, Allan Brooks, and Tony Brooks, her daughter Sherry Brooks; sisters Agnes (Townsend), Edwards and Hazel (Townsend) Brooks, her brothers Harold Townsend (sister-in-law Diana ‘Kerslake’ Townsend) and Douglas (Doug) Townsend (sister-in-law Mildred ‘Friesen’ Townsend);
She is survived by her daughter Susan (Brooks) Bird (son-in-law Richard (Rick) Bird), her sister Dorothy (Townsend) Pahoda (brother-in-law Milton Pahoda), daughters-in-law Edwina Mouner , Jackie Brooks; and many nieces, nephews, grand children and great grand children.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
A Celebration of Marilyn’s Life will be held in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, on Monday December 6, 2021 at 2:00 pm.
