Larry Augustus Rodrigues
1958-2021
It is with the heaviest of hearts that we let
the world know that Larry Augustus Rodrigues, a loving, funny, kind,
caring, proud, partner, father, son, brother, grandfather, and friend
left this world suddenly on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at age 63. Even
though a failing heart took him from us all too soon; his loving heart
touched all who knew him. Born in Halifax, he was the son of Winnifred
(Bishop) Rodrigues and the late Augustus Rodrigues.
Larry was a Metrologist employed by Michelin
Waterville where he had worked and joked for over thirty
years. Larry lived life to the fullest, making quick-witted
puns, pulling pranks, talking cars and sports, and bragging about his
family. His family was the most important thing in his life. Second to
his family Larry loved sports, especially watching his children play,
and music. He coached hockey, soccer and basketball and he had
volunteered with far too many sports organizations to list here. When
he had the time there was nothing better than a family get-together,
where he would often overfeed you, followed by a “fam jam”,
so when he wasn’t stuffing you with his famous full
breakfast or making you groan with his dad jokes, he was cheering on
the Habs or banging on his drums. He had an uncanny ability
to put everyone at ease and make them laugh and he gave the best
hugs.
Larry is survived by the love of his life his
partner, Patricia “Trish” MacNeil, Kentville; mother,
Winnifred “Winnie” (Bishop), Halifax; children, Ryan,
Coldbrook; Derek (Michelle), Lower Sackville; Amy, New Minas; Ben
(Corinne), Kentville; John (Jennifer), Saint John, NB: Maria,
Kentville; grandchildren, MacKensie, Jaxon, Piper, Oliver and Lincoln;
sisters, Linda Higgins (Wes Howie), Halifax; Lita Rodrigues (Mark
Merrimen), Timberlea; brother by heart, Wayne Lynch (Sheree Coke),
Halifax; sisters-in-law, Debbie Pike (Dwayne McComber), Sydney;
Katherine McIsaac (Glen) Chestermere AB; his nieces, nephews, Carlye,
Vanessa and Josh; and extended
family.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no
visitation. A private celebration of Larry’s life will be
held, by invitation only, in the White Family Funeral Home, a video
webcast will be available on Saturday, August 28, 2021 beginning at
7:00 p.m. Due to allergies; no flowers. Donations in memory may be

to be used to continue his daughter, Maria’s, university
education. Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family
