If
you knew Kyle, you knew laughter. The type that hurts your cheeks and
gives you the best kind of belly ache. Kyle’s humour was a
quirky, awesome combo of goofy antics and lightning- quick
one-liners.
If you were in
Kyle’s presence, you knew warmth and, if you were one of the
lucky ones, you got to feel the comfort of one of his hugs.
Kyle’s bright smile and killer eyes were surpassed only by
his ability to brighten your day with an embrace.
If
you heard Kyle play his bass or guitar, you got to experience a
passionate musician share one of his greatest loves with you: music.
When Kyle played, he was serving up his heart on his bass and letting
you into the creativity that lived inside him. You also got to witness
the greatest Bass Face of all.
If you got to
play disc golf with Kyle, well…you got your hat handed to
you. Kyle was nothing if not a strong and gifted athlete. A patient
angler who held a soft spot in his heart for fishing, his love of
sports was vast. From softball, to archery and everything in between,
Kyle was a true adventurer, always keen on trying his hand at new
things.
If you got to be around Kyle
and his kids, you got to see what it is to be a true father.
Perfection is an illusion and nowhere is this more apparent than in
parenting. Kyle’s journey within fatherhood was framed by
love, vulnerability, growth, frustration, kindness, curiosity, worry,
strength and a genuine hope for his children to excel and find joy
down every path their hearts lead them. A fierce father is now and
forever a fierce angel protector.
If you got to
see Kyle in love, then you got to learn what it means to wear your
heart on your sleeve. Kyle was a courageous risk taker in life and in
love. He instinctively understood the reward that comes to you if your
heart is truly open. Never has that been more apparent than over this
past year, in seeing Kyle’s delight and gratitude for
meeting his true love and partner, or in his joy and excitement for
their lives together.
In short, if you were
fortunate enough to cross paths with Kyle in any capacity, you were
granted the gift of knowing a hilarious, wickedly intelligent, kind,
compassionate and wonderful human being. A beloved son, brother,
father, nephew, uncle, brother-in-law and friend; Kyle you will be
sorely missed and carried in our hearts
forever.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Kyle John MacKenzie 1983 2021..
