At her home on Sunday August 29th, 2021, Krista Roy of Chatham passed away at the age of 50 years. Cherished daughter of Janet Shepperd (and the late Jerry Suk). Beloved wife and best friend of Jamie Austin. Loving mother and rock of Rachel LaRose and her husband Gerrit, and Micheal Austin. Proud grandma of Kaylee, Noah, and Jayse. Dear sister of Scott Suk. Family and friends are invited to the Alexander & Houle Funeral Home, 245 Wellington West, Chatham, 519-352-2710 on Wednesday September 1st, 2021, with visiting from 7 to 9 pm. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, you must schedule your visitation time in advance by calling the funeral home at (519) 352-2710. All attendees as mandated by the Bereavement Authority of Ontario must wear a mask at all visitations and funerals. A private family funeral will be streamed live from the funeral home on Thursday September 2nd, 2021, at 1 pm with Rev. Doug Rowley officiating. Cremation to follow with interment Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim, at a later date. Friends planning an expression of remembrance are asked to consider the Canadian Cancer Society. Micheal and Family:
I had the privilege of meeting Krista when Micheal started Junior Kindergarten. I was one of the staff members in his class. I would always say, “Have a BLESSED day!!!” when she dropped him off in the morning. Well, every morning after she would try to beat me saying it and we would laugh. She had a great smile. One thing for sure is that she LOVED her family. Krista always talked about them. Even after I left the school, we stayed in contact and would talk occasionally. We will miss her bright light!!!
