KREUTZ, SUSAN LEE
August 1, 1966 – December 13, 2021
With a deep sense of sorrow and loss, our family announces the passing of our beloved wife and mother,
Susan Kreutz, at the age of 55. Sue is survived by her husband of 32 years, Rod; her children, Kate (Blair) Mulder and Eric Kreutz; mother, Mickey Johnston; mother-in-law, Kathy Kreutz; siblings, Greg (Monica) Johnston, Bev (Barry) Deacon, Murray (Colleen) Johnston, Lynn (Stacey) Vaughan; and many more extended family and friends.
The youngest of five children, Sue was born to George and Mickey Johnston on August 1, 1966, in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. She spent most of her school years living on the south side of Edmonton, graduating from Harry Ainlay High School in 1984. She received a degree in Recreational Therapy from the University of Alberta, during which time she met her future husband, Rod. In August 1989, Sue and Rod were married, settling first in Edmonton and, later, in Beaumont, where they raised two beautiful children.
Sue worked as a Recreation Therapist at the General Hospital Continuing Care Centre for 22 years and then transitioned to positions with two Care Centres run by the Good Samaritan Society. Over the years, her dedication to her work and to the patients in her care was a shining example for others, and she made lifelong friends with many colleagues and clients.
Her dedication to her family was first and foremost in her life, and Sue will be remembered as a loving wife and mother, who kept her immediate (and extended) family well organized. Sue fostered a wonderful feeling of love and comfort to all those around her, and those whose lives she touched were blessed to have known her. She will be greatly missed!
With attendance limited as per Covid restrictions, a private celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at 11:00 am, in Edmonton. The service will be streamed live via zoom link: us02web.zoom.us/j/214107800
