Khaled Abu Ansari 2021

Khaled Abu Ansari
It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear father, Abu Khaled Ansari on May 20, 2021.
A direct descendant of the Ansar clan of Medina, Saudi Arabia, the first converts to Islam and followers of the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH), beloved son of (Al-Hajj) Abdul Aziz Ansari and (Al-Hajj) Hafiza Khatun, born on January 1, 1934, in the village of Pilkhundi in the district of Murshidabad, West Bengal, India, the last son to have outlived his other 11 siblings, Khaled had a priviledged upbringing as a member of the landed gentry class of West Bengal, India.
He witnessed many political upheavals in his life including the great famine of Bengal in 1941, the communal fighting of 1946, India’s independence from British rule in 1947, the ensuing Partition of India and Pakistan, the Pakistani war against East Bengal in 1971 and the creation of Bangladesh in that same year. In immigrating to Canada in 1972 he was able to raise his family in safety and security. A devoted husband to his late wife, Sabrina Khanam, a loving father to his two children, Nasimbanu (Bobby) Ansari and Mamun Ansari (Katie Mcauliffe), a doting grandfather to Michael Aziz Ansari and loved by his innumerable nieces, nephews, grandnephews, grandnieces and other relatives in Canada, the United States, Japan, India and Bangladesh he will be sorely missed
Despite the tumultuous political upheavals and wars he witnessed, it nonetheless fostered his secular, humanistic, non-descriminatory outlook in life and he had many friends who were both Hindu and Muslim. His own humility also helped him to fraternize with people from all walks of life. He will be remembered for his adventurous and free youth, his sense of humour, his infectious laugh that could be heard from the street-corner, his love of all creatures great and small and how he entertained his many nephews and nieces in their youth with magic tricks.
His greatest love was his family. He was a gentle presence to all.
The world lost a beloved father. He will be sorely missed by all his family and friends in Canada and beyond.
Due to Covid protocol, a limited service will be held on Saturday May 22, 2021.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Khaled Abu Ansari 2021..
