Kenneth Harold Raymond Reeves 1924 2021

Obituary of Kenneth Harold Raymond Reeves
Ken Reeves of Regina, Saskatchewan, formerly Moose Jaw, Hanley, and Young, passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2021 with his daughters at his side. Ken was born on the family farm outside Hanley. As a young man, he worked alongside his father and brother John, on the farm. At the age of 19, he joined the Royal Canadian Navy and served in World War II. On his return home, he purchased a small farm outside of Young, Saskatchewan where he and Kay farmed until the fall of 1957. They then moved the family into the town of Young and he began a career with the Co-op, first delivering fuel to farms in the area and later as the lumber and bulk fuel manager. He and Kay retired at a fairly young age and had some adventures traveling with a trailer in Western Canada and USA. After their travels, they settled for many years, in their old home town of Hanley. During the time that they lived in Hanley, Ken took on many odd jobs in the area and also became a Municipal Hail Inspector for a few years. He really enjoyed traveling around the province and having the opportunity to interact with many Saskatchewan farmers. He was still tromping through fields at the age of 72. They moved to Moose Jaw in 2007. For the last 4 years of his life, Ken was kindly cared for in the Veterans L.T.C. Unit in Regina.
Ken and Kay were great lovers of family. They lived close to several brothers and sisters and spent many hours in their company. They also enjoyed watching their nephews and nieces growing up. They spent many holidays with their daughters and grandchildren, often including the Noel family in their trailer travels out to B.C. to holiday with the Flesher family.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Kay; his brother John; and sisters Mary and Gladys. He is survived by his daughters, Sandra Noel (Keith)and Debbie Flesher (Doug); grandchildren, Tanya Noel (Mike Cavaretta), Cara Stadnyk, Blaine Noel(Laura), Geoff Flesher (Ivy), Chris Flesher (Sheila) and Laurel Desautels (Chris); great grandchildren Dylan, Tanner and Madison Stadnyk; Robin Noel; Annelise and Kathryn Flesher; Sarah, Damien and James Flesher; Dariann , Milla, Kayden, Jack and Olivia Desautels; great-great granddaughter Callie Stadnyk; sisters Marguerite and Helen;
brother Albert; and many nieces and nephews.
Ken’s family will be saying their farewell with a Graveside Service at Hanley Cemetery, on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Andrew Appledore officiating.
