Obituary of Kenneth Alvin Marks
MARKS , Kenneth Alvin-age 93 of Dartmouth passed away peacefully on February 2, 2021 in Northwood Manor, Halifax. Born in Ship Harbour, he was a son of the late John “Quinn” and Alice (Newcombe) Marks.
Ken was an avid hunter and fisherman in his early years. He was a faithful bird watcher and had a knack for gardening. Ken loved his sweets, especially chocolate cake. He was an intelligent man with worldly knowledge and a friend to all he met. Ken was a devoted “Papa” to his great grandnieces. He was extremely close with his sister and enjoyed visiting her often. Ken will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his sister, Marjorie Widgery; nieces, Tanya Hamilton and Carolyn (Garth) Brown; nephew, Edward (Christa) Stoddart; numerous great nieces and great nephews.
A funeral service will be held 2pm Saturday, February 6, 2021 in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie, Rev. Kim Curlett officiating. Interment will be held at a later date. COVID-19 provincial regulations apply; masks are required to be worn and social distancing guidelines must be adhered to.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ken’s memory may be made to a charity of choice.
