Kenneth Ken Donald Nicoll Thursday March 18th 2021

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Kenneth Nicoll, on March 18th at the Ottawa Civic Hospital, in his 84th year. Ken was the son of the late Eileen and Don Nicoll. Loving husband of his high school sweetheart, Janice Nicoll, for almost 59 years. Dear father of Barbara Nicoll and Laurie Hall (Brian), and cherished grandfather of Cody Nicoll, Chloe Hall and Aidan Hall. Much-loved brother of Lyn Murta (Jack) and brother-in-law Allen Class. Ken was a teacher and principal with the Ottawa Board of Education, where he worked at several schools before ending his career at the Ottawa Children’s Treatment Centre (CHEO).
Ken was a people person, and whether it was with family, friends, staff or coworkers, he enjoyed being with others. He will be greatly missed by his buddies at the Ottawa Hunt and Golf Club, where he could be found golfing, doing Sudoku puzzles, or telling stories and jokes with his friends. He loved holidays with his grandchildren and exploring abroad with his group of travel friends.
A private family service will be held on Friday, March 26, 2021 at 2:00p.m. For those who wish to participate virtually by livestreaming, please visit Ken’s webpage at www.hpmcgarry.ca on the day of the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute would be greatly appreciated.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Kenneth Ken Donald Nicoll Thursday March 18th 2021..

  1. To Janice, Barbara, Laurie and the entire Nicoll clan,
Please accept my deepest sympathies on the loss of Ken. He was a good-humored and kind man and a good friend to my father Jake. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him, and I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. I feel lucky to have seen him last year at the club having lunch with Idwal and his buddies, and that is how I will remember him.
